Housing Acquisition Supervisor
VP of Housing Acquisition
Anthos|Home is an innovative new nonprofit that will transform the system by which New York City residents with housing subsidies locate and rent available housing.
Anthos|Home is modeled on Brilliant Corners in California, a successful housing clearinghouse that uses a flexible pool of funding to administer and quickly find apartments for tenants.
Anthos|Home will help to streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in processes, and fill in gaps in the current NYC voucher housing market process. The organization will be a game- changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness and for the public systems that serve them.
The Housing Acquisition Supervisor will work in a team of dedicated professionals and report to the Vice President of Housing Acquisition. In this role, the Housing Acquisition Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a unit of four to five Housing Acquisition Specialists who are working to acquire apartments and maintain relationships with apartment owners, property managers, brokers, and staff. The acquired apartments will be used to house young adults aging out of foster care, families involved with the child welfare system and those living in shelters, all of whom have a housing voucher.
The Housing Acquisition Supervisor will be expected to help the Housing Acquisition Specialists think outside the box, identify barriers for landlords and residents and help develop solutions. In addition to supervising the Housing Acquisition Specialists, the Supervisor will spend some of their time cultivating and maintaining their own relationships with property owners, property managers and brokers. Someone with a housing/real estate background and with a demonstrated skill working with diverse people is essential.
The Housing Acquisition team has access to “Flex Pool” funding to support efforts to secure apartments. The housing acquisition department will “bank” apartments that meet standards required by the voucher system by paying rent while a tenant is being matched to the unit.
Critical to this role is ensuring that the Housing Acquisition Specialists advance a customer service ethos that is responsive to the needs of landlords, brokers, and tenants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Ensuring that the Housing Acquisition Specialists are identifying and securing appropriate rental housing throughout New York City.

Ensure that accurate, timely and thorough lead/property data is maintained and updated in the internal database/tracking system.
Ensure that the Housing Acquisition Specialists are conducting housing quality inspections as needed and advising property providers of any deficiencies to correct or violations to resolve.
