About Anthos|Home
Anthos|Home is an innovative new nonprofit that will transform the system by which New York City residents with housing subsidies locate and rent available housing.
Anthos|Home is modeled on Brilliant Corners in California, a successful housing clearinghouse that uses a flexible pool of funding to administer and quickly find apartments for tenants.
Anthos|Home will help to streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in processes, and fill in gaps in the current NYC voucher housing market process. The organization will be a game- changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness and for the public systems that serve them.
The Director of Human Resources (Director of HR) is a key member of the Anthos | Home (AH) leadership team and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. The HR Director will work closely with the CEO to provide advice and manage HR policies and strategies that support the mission of the organization. The Director of HR is responsible for all critical human resource functions to support the talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, compliance, HR policies and company guidelines, retention, and culture.
This role works closely with other internal and external departments including payroll, benefits, accounting, and finance. As a new nonprofit, this position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated leader to create a new HR Infrastructure and play a significant role in developing an inclusive work environment.

Understands the important role the HR department plays in partnership with programs and staff to advance the organization’s mission and vision;
Has a collaborative spirit with high emotional intelligence to build meaningful relationships with team members; and
Has at least 3 years of experience in New York City and has worked in or around social services organizations.
Qualifications & Skills
Key Responsibilities include the ability to:
Establish and develop the HR department, including policies and best practices for HR matters such as compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
Collaborate with executive leadership on aligning talent management with organizational goals.
Support division leaders and staff with their specific HR needs and develop strategies for talent management processes, performance metrics, and training.
Monitor adherence to compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee relations compliance.
Develop and administer workplace policies against harassment and discrimination and when needed, coordinate external support;
Identify and implement diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility processes to support staff and clients;
Supporting leadership to develop staffing and budget plans.Advise on HR matters, and provide guidance on policies, benefits, and issue resolution.
Coach managers on staff performance and relationships.
Build and manage the HR team if applicable.
Develop employee relations and DEI practices.
Promote an inclusive and efficient workplace.
Perform other related HR duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources management or related field or commensurate work experience
SHRM or HRCI certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) a plus 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
Experience working closely and effectively with a Professional Employee Organization, as well as expertise working with 401k providers, health insurance companies and payroll providers.
Knowledge of Federal, New York State, and NYC employment laws.
Experience in housing, social services, nonprofits, community service is a plus.
Must be well organized and detail oriented. Strong project management skills a plus.
Trustworthy; must possess integrity and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information.
Exceptional, quality customer service and relationship building skills.
Ability to balance the details and big picture without losing perspective.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible and resilient.
Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, HR software experience
Work Environment
- • Competitive Pay: $85,000 - $100,000 salary range, commensurate with experience
• WFH/Hybrid work; 3 days will be required in the office each week
