About Anthos|Home
Anthos|Home is an innovative new nonprofit that will transform the system by which New York City residents with housing subsidies locate and rent available housing.
Anthos|Home is modeled on Brilliant Corners in California, a successful housing clearinghouse that uses a flexible pool of funding to administer and quickly find apartments for tenants.
Anthos|Home will help to streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in processes, and fill in gaps in the current NYC voucher housing market process. The organization will be a game- changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness and for the public systems that serve them.
The Community Research Intern will provide critical support to Anthos | Home as it begins to serve clients in New York City. Internally, they will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and the VP for Tenant Coordination on specific tasks and research efforts. We are looking for a hard-working, passionate individual with initiative who has just completed or is currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include the ability to:
Perform research on specific items that would be beneficial to the Anthos|Home model.
Develop neighborhood resource guides for clients so that when they move into a new community they know how to access services as needed.
Research specific government funding programs and opportunities in New York City and surrounding communities.
Assist in developing detailed guides outlining the requirements and resources available for each kind of rental subsidy available in New York City (there are at least eight of these)
Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations on housing voucher utilization and program effectiveness.
Research sources of funding for the organization
Support the Executive Team in the launch of the organization this summer
Note taking and meeting summarizations
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
Assist with ad hoc projects
Qualifications & Skills
SKILLS:
Must be detail-oriented and an effective problem-solver.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must have strong technical aptitude, with advanced proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment.
Passion for social impact and for helping others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as urban studies, public health, social work, public policy, or a related discipline.
Strong academic record and a commitment to learning and professional growth.
Prior experience or coursework related to affordable housing, public assistance programs, or social services is desirable but not required.
Familiarity with housing voucher programs such as Section 8 or similar initiatives is a plus.
Knowledge of the housing landscape and rental market in New York City is also a plus.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Availability to work for the specified duration of the summer internship.
Work Environment
- • Pay: $20 per hour
• WFH/Hybrid work: 1 to 3 days may be required in the office each week

• Starts ASAP and runs into September (flexible end date)
