About Anthos|Home
Anthos|Home is an innovative new nonprofit that will transform the system by which New York City residents with housing subsidies locate and rent available housing.
Anthos|Home is modeled on Brilliant Corners in California, a successful housing clearinghouse that uses a flexible pool of funding to administer and quickly find apartments for tenants.
Anthos|Home will help to streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in processes, and fill in gaps in the current NYC voucher housing market process. The organization will be a game- changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness and for the public systems that serve them.
The Chief Operating Officer/Chief Administrative Officer (COO/CAO) will be responsible for overseeing the Operations, Administrative and IT activities of Anthos|Home. The position is a member of the executive team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The COO/CAO will develop and implement operational and technical controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and ensure there are systems in place to ensure operational excellence. As a member of a new organization, the COO/CAO will also need to develop policies and procedures for operations as well implement a financial administration structure. S/he will also work with outside legal counsel to develop necessary legal documents to the support the operations of Anthos|Home and the flexible pool of funding for housing placements, which is core to the agency’s mission. S/he should also have familiarity with overseeing contracted IT vendors.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience scaling a new organization, leading successful teams and developing a culture of out-of-the box thinking. It is envisioned that the COO/CAO will directly oversee a team of up to 12 people, including an operations manager, financial processing specialists, application specialists and IT consultants. The COO/CAO will work closely with the financial team to ensure the financial health of the organization as it starts up as well as oversee the technology to support the business function of matching tenants to available apartments and administering funding from the flex pool.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Organization Leadership
Create a culture that promotes innovation
Oversee the implementation of Anthos|Home’s vision and mission and ensure results are achieved
Work closely with the executive team
Administration of the Flexible Pool of Funding
Oversee the creation and administration of the flex pool
Secure data on unit listings
Develop a process to match prospective households to apartments
Make any payments needed to house households, including to landlords.
Financial Support
Support the preparation and management of the organization’s annual budget working closely with the finance team
Ensure compliance with all laws pertaining to governance and oversight
Develop risk management policies and procedures
Information Technology Oversight
Ensure the technological resources meet the short and long-term needs of Anthos|Home
Manage the technology budget, staff and consultants
Work with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement a sustainable technology solution for the organization’s operations and growth
Qualifications & Skills
The Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Administrative Officer must be proactive in accomplishing tasks and goals. S/he must be mission driven and excited at the opportunity to shape a new organization. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic and will require someone who can easily handle and juggle multiple priorities. The candidate will have 10 years in a senior operations or management role at a nonprofit or government entity. A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required. A graduate degree in Business, Law, Finance, Business Administration, or Financial Management is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills and creative problem-solving abilities (a sense of humor is a plus).
Work Environment
- • Competitive Pay: $150,000-$175,000 starting salary (dependent on experience)
